Description of House in Rhone Alps:
Our house is a traditional style Alpine chalet of stone and wood, built in the first half of the twentieth century.
The chalet is spread over 3 floors:
The lower ground floor has its own entrance; there are 3 bedrooms - one single room with a washbasin with dual views of the Argentiere glacier and Mont-Blanc, one twin bedded room with en suite shower and washbasin, with view towards Mont-Blanc, one twin bedded room with large ensuite - bath, separate shower, WC, washbasin. All 3 rooms are wood panelled.
There is also a sauna with shower, 2 WCs, ski and boot room, laundry room, breakfast bar with sink, space for the washing machine, a large boiler room and stairs up to the ground floor.
The ground floor consists of an open plan kitchen/dining room with large bay window offering a spectacular view of the glacier. The kitchen has a range of fitted pine wall and floor cupboards, a 6 burner, 4 oven cooker, a large walk in larder, tiled floor and a door to the garden. The dining area has an oak floor which continues into the sitting room.

The sitting room also has dual views of the glacier and the Massif of Mont-Blanc, it has an open fire place and gives access to the front door and porch. It has traditional pine panelling to 2/3 height, beams on the ceiling and staircase to upper floors.

The fourth bedroom is on the mezzanine floor. This is a large room which currently has a set of bunk beds and 2 single beds, it has 2 large built in cupboards and a large eaves storage space, there are windows facing north and south. It has a full en suite - bath with shower attachment, WC and washbasin.

The upper floor has 3 bedrooms, all with views of the glacier. The main bedroom has dual views of the glacier and Mont-Blanc, it also has double doors leading to a balcony, it has a shower and washbasin and built in wardrobe; this is a lovely sunny room.
There is another double bedroom with wash basin and built in wardrobe and a small single room with washbasin that we currently use as an office, but could be used as a dressing room or en suite to the main bedroom via the connecting door.

There is a separate bathroom with modern wood panelling, with bath with shower attachment, WC and wash basin. There is another separate WC.

The house has 2219m2 of land - to the village side the garden is screened by a mature beech hedge with grass and a terrace, there is also a melt water stream; to the northern side there is grass, behind the house, the land rises quite steeply and is forested.
Chamonix Mont Blanc - Surrounding area:
It is situated on the edge of the village of Argentiere which is 7kms from Chamonix, it is close to all the village amenities and has stunning views. It is a short walk away from the ski lift to the world famous Grands Montets ski area.
Other information:
The house has been successfully used as a catered ski chalet for many years and it is ideally located for this.
We rent out the 3 lower floor rooms in the summer, again, it is ideal for this as the lower floor is self contained, having its own entrance and garden.
